I love this book. Period. The amount of information gathered in one place for a voice artist is wonderful. And the fact that you can contact co-author Jeffrey Fisher with questions is really an excellent bonus. I don’t know if it has been updated since it was printed a couple of years ago, since there are some things that have changes in the intervening time (particularly about USB microphones), but it is a book that should be on every home voiceover artist’s shelf.

Wendy Edwards interviews Mahmoud Taji, voice artist and proprietor of Voice Pavilion, about the monumental events in Egypt, where he has lived for 18 years. Mahmoud gives local insight to the tide of change that swept over the country and pushed out President Hosni Mubarak, in what many have called the overthrow of the last Pharaoh.
I met Jodi Krangle at Faffcon this weekend, and she imparts some valuable information here regarding that old friend of ours, search engine optimization.

But exactly how do they work, and from a practical point of view, how can you use them to the greatest advantage? We’ll provide a brief overview, and then head into the studio and see how the use of a compressor can help the recording process.
